ActiveStream

ActiveStreamâ„¢ by Quartet is a software component that enables quantitative analysts, traders and the middle and back office to create and manage the entire life cycle of a structured financial product.

Basel II, Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulations require consistency between front and back office contract and transaction management. Many products can do one or the other but stop short of full lifecycle processing capability, creating operational risk.

Quartet solves conflicting front office vs back office requirements by putting lifecycle management at the core of ActiveStream. User interfaces manage lifecycle requests that ActiveStream applies to deals with a bi-temporal engine. This ensures the cause, not just the deal change, is recorded and business and system timelines remain independent to provide full back value processing and audit log.

IT developers create financial products using pre-assembled financial widgets and extensible rules or by plugging in existing pay-off engines. The benefit of this approach is the ability to leverage existing financial structures to create new products and re-use the in-house quantitative library for trade pay-off calculation purposes.

This visionary approach increases competitiveness and agility in the front office. When a new asset class is introduced, users can apply existing business rules, and re-use previously designed trade structures, rather than recreating a product for each market. Leveraging the same feature, it is as easy to create a hybrid product as a single asset class structure.
